It's finally here!
The long awaited wax ring workshop is finally ready and we cannot wait to see what you make. As a silversmith, Tara, the owner of beadandsip.ie has always wanted to host workshops where we teach you skills of creating your own jewellery in precious metals.
The workshop is 2.5 hours long, you will be guided from start to finish on how to create your own ring from wax. Sounds bizarre? Bare with us.
What is lost wax casting?
We will start by taking your ring size and then begin to hollow out the center of the wax tube to match your exact finger size. Once this is done, we will file and carve into the wax ring to create your design. You will be fully guided on this process and given guidance and techniques you can use.
- The class begins at 12:00 util 14:30, please arrive with plenty of time to spare.
- A ring of up to 10g of silver is included in each ticket, heavier rings will have an added charge proportionate to the extra silver used.
- Other previous metals such as 9k or 18k gold can be requested, this must be done in advance and will cost a considerable amount more due to the price of gold.
- All tools, materials and expertise are provided within the workshop. The teacher will guide you and advise you of what may or may not be possible when working with wax
- Please allow up to 2 weeks to receive the piece after the workshop
Should a student arrive more than 15 minutes late to a class, please note that they may be refused participation as this disrupts the class. The decision is fully at the discretion of the teacher.
Please try to arrive with plenty of time before the class starts.
Cancellations less than 3 days prior to the event are not entitled to a refund.
Cancellations made 7-3 days prior to a class are entitled to a 50% refund in the form of a gift voucher to be used with beadandsip.ie
Cancellations made with more than 7 days notice are entitled to a full refund.
Students who fail to attend a class are not entitled to a refund.
If, for whatever reason, a class is cancelled, we will either offer a full refund or a gift voucher to be used for future classes.
